Our organisataion is a registered charity and we are run by a Board of Trustees, who are also volunteers.
VOLUNTEER RECEPTIONIST AT HOPS:
"It's a real privilege and pleasure to be involved; and the energy from the healing, caring and friendship is, I feel palpable as soon as you set foot in the door. I have met some incredibly special people here, both colleagues and clients, and there's a real bond between us all at HOPS, all working towards the same goal, all believing in a shared vision."
VOLUNTEER THERAPIST AT HOPS:
"What an exciting time it has been, since I was first asked to be involved with HOPS back in January 2008.
After many discussions and meetings, everything was in order for us to welcome our first clients to HOPS in November of that year and we have not looked back. I have been very happy to give my time and experience to the project since its inception (anything from helping with basic administrative tasks to giving therapeutic treatments to clients of HOPS) and have enjoyed watching it grow from an idea to a successful provider of complementary healthcare to the people of Sunderland.
Being part of a project whose aim is to help those in great need was my motivation for becoming involved and it has proved to be very rewarding. Providing a treatment to a client, helping them to relax and feel removed from the strains of their life for an hour has been a humbling experience, one which is repeated every I time I walk out of the door of our lovely, peaceful building at the end of the day.
Long may it continue ……."
