BENEFACTORS
Without the generous help of a small number of regular benefactors, HOPS Wellbeing Service would be unable to operate. Their belief in our work is unswerving and it enables us to reach out to those most in need of our services.
We are indebted to them and thank them for their ongoing support.
Similarly, we could not continue without the invaluable help of our VOLUNTEERS. The value of their unpaid work is estimated to exceed £30,000 p.a. and we are most grateful for their support.
FUNDERS
PEOPLE'S HEALTH TRUST
Thanks to the People's Health Trust and a benefactor, we provide monthly Carers Days and weekly events for carers from January 2018.- July 2021
COMMUNITY FOUNDATION; Their support has helped with a number of projects over the years and is currently helping us to adapt to the challenges of the pandemic era, e.g. moving our classes online.
GREGGS LOCAL COMMUNITY PROJECTS FUND
WEARMOUTH COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT TRUST LEGACY FUND
HADRIAN TRUST
With support from these three organisations, we have been able to continue running Carers’ Time Out Days .
During 2020 we are adapting our support for Carers in line with Covid 19 restrictions.
SUNDERLAND CITY COUNCIL (COMMUNITY LED LOCAL DEVELOPMENT FUND) and SUNDERLAND NORTH AREA COMMITTEE
In partnership with Grace House, HOPS delivered the Wellbeing Works pilot project in 2019. This successfully supported nearly 50 non-employed individuals who have health problems so that their health and self confidence improved and they were able to move on in their lives, e.g. into voluntary work or training.
ESH FUND
GREGGS FOUNDATION
We were delighted to be able to run four more Carers Days between January and July 2017 with the help of these two organisations.
GREGGS FOUNDATION
Thanks to a grant from Greggs Foundation, we were able to run five Carers' Away Days between July 2016 and January 2017.
Carers were able to have therapy treatments and take part in taster classes in Tai Chi/ Meditation in Motion; Self Care for Carers; and Singing. They also enjoyed a healthy lunch and lots of laughter and chat.
HOPS and the carers who participated are most grateful to Greggs for making it possible for carers to have a rare opportunity to be cared for for a change, away from 24/7 caring duties.
CULTURAL SPRING Your Art Fund 2016
We received a grant to support the first term of singing classes which led to the formation
of the HOPS Community Choir, led by Lindsay Hannon.
This group is thriving and there is plenty of laughter as well as singing on choir nights!
Open to all, the choir welcomes new members and is looking forward to its next concert.
In February 2015 we were awarded a grant from the R.W.Mann Trust to help us on our path towards sustainability.

In September 2014 we were awarded a small grant in partnership with CEED to run a Wellbeing Together programme for the Over 50's. This funded classes in Tai Chi, Meditation, Singing for Health & Happiness and Gardening for Health. The North Area Committee Social Isolation Fund supported this project.
In July 2014 our Womens's Wellbeing Day, in partnership with Aspire, was supported by a grant from Sunderland City Council Community Chest Fund . |

HOPS is a registered charity and has to raise money from many sources: donations, grants, course fees and specially commissioned events and services. Could YOU help us, please?
FUNDRAISING FOR HOPS WHEN YOU SHOP ONLINE via easyfundraising.org.uk
If you shop online, you can help HOPS every time that you buy something from a big name store.
Register with www.easyfundraising.org.uk, saying you want to support HOPS Healing Opportunities Provision Scheme. Then each time you buy something from the big name stores via the easyfundraising site, a small percentage will go to HOPS.
Just remember to go to www.easyfundraising.org.uk first and access the store from their list. They do not keep a record of your purchases. You can get a free Donation Reminder so that you always remember to go via easyfundraising to do your shopping. It's free and there are no annoying advertisements.
THANK YOU VERY MUCH
